UNIWERSYTET WARSZAWSKI (UNIWARSAW) – Poland

The University of Warsaw is Poland's largest public research institution, established in 1816. It offers a wide range of academic programs, including 37 fields of study and 100 specializations in the humanities, technical fields, and natural sciences. The university is spread across 126 buildings, housing over 18 faculties, including law, biology, economics, and psychology. UNIVERSITÀ DEGLI STUDI DI TRENTO (UNITN) – Italy

The University of Trento was founded in 1962 and has always aimed at building alliances and reciprocal efficiency with Italian and foreign institutions and organizations. In 1982, the University (until then private) became public, with a statute that guaranteed self-government.
UniTrento aims to recruit young, enthusiastic, qualified, and dynamic researchers: these are the main features that form the basis to drive the research guidelines of its departments and centers toward new and interesting research issues.
Further, it prompts its researchers to create cooperation networks through specific mobility and cooperation programs, aimed at reinforcing the research networks which are fundamental both to update the researchers’ training and to attract new funding opportunities.
UniTrento supports its research structures continuously, spanning from the planning phase to the drafting of the final financial report, through all stages of the increasingly complex and competitive process to access funding for research projects.
Active since 2005, the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science offers an integrated approach to the study of the mind, the brain and human behavior.
By employing methodologies from diverse disciplines such as psychology, neuroscience, pedagogy, philosophy, sociology, cultural studies, and cognitive technologies—all of which are central to the cognitive sciences—research and teaching within the Department aim to capture and understand the variables involved in all aspects of human behavior. This interdisciplinary approach is the Department’s greatest strength, as it allows multiple fields to enrich one another, fostering innovative insights and solutions to complex problems. This collaborative synergy drives forward both research and education, offering a more comprehensive understanding of human cognition and behavior.
The Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science (DiPSCo) has been recognized as a Department of excellence by the MUR (Ministry of University and Research) for two consecutive five-year periods.

UNIVERSITA’ DEGLI STUDI DI MILANO (UMIL) – Italy

A hundred years in the life of the University of Milan - A history that speaks to your future
Milan University, affectionately called as ‘La Statale’, is one of Italy's youngest universities. Doctor Luigi Mangiagalli established La Statale in 1924, realizing his long-held dream of building a university in the regional center of Lombardy. Law, Humanities, Medicine, and Mathematical, Physical, and Natural Sciences were the four colleges that comprised the University of Milan when it was formed. Over the years, Milan's many educational institutions and best schools would become part of the University of Milan. The University, of which Mangiagalli was Rector until 1926, grew steadily until World War Two, with 3,000 students and six faculties (the Faculties of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine were added in the 1930s) in Città Studi, home to the scientific faculties, and the historic city center. Since its founding, the University has focused on transdisciplinary, creative education and new professional skills needed by a rapidly changing labor market. Over time, the University has increased its commitment to technology transfer and economic-production application of scientific research. Recently, a project has been launched to establish a science campus in the Milan Innovation District (MInD), the location of Expo 2015, which will house a prominent research and technology center. In 2022, the University of Milan Board of Directors authorized the final Science Campus project in MIND-Milan Innovation District, which would house the University's scientific faculties starting in 2026. The final project will rationalize, optimize, and develop research and teaching services and infrastructures to international standards, concentrating the University of Milan's rich and multidisciplinary scientific offer in one location and enabling its interaction with a strongly innovation-driven ecosystem.
